ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Alexia Parenzee: Alexia Parenzee is an award-winning soulful roots artist worth the stay. Her sound feels like a cool drink of water on a balmy day, and it’s making serious waves as this stunning artist is quickly rising amongst the Aus music scene. Leaping into 2024, Alexia returns fresh off the back of touring her home state (WA) with award-winning musicians Kim Churchill, and Busby Marou, before successfully launching her debut EP ‘Retrospect’ a few short months ago. The EP has gained so much community radio love, including premiere’s with Triple J, 4ZZZ, ABC Statewide (WA) and RTRFM. The roots artist will wrap up the year after a successful run of music festival appearances, including: WA’s Nannup Music Festival, Folkworld’s Fairbridge Festival and Blues at Bridgetown. This year the musician took out a national songwriting award (Australian Songwriting Association’s National Songwriting Contest – Best Contemporary category) and was shortlisted nationally for the Australia Songwriter Prize (Listen Up).
Finn Pearson: Singer-songwriter Finn Pearson has steadily built himself a reputation as one of WA’s hardest working musicians, establishing himself as a prolific multi-instrumentalist, oscillating between regional touring and a string of packed-out full band shows in Perth. Against a backdrop of iconic West Australian scenery, from sprawling suburbs to empty sweeping highways, the music of Finn and the Band tracks the messy dichotomies of humanity: love and darkness, obsession and yearning; beauty and rage. Classic Australian influences such as Paul Kelly and Cold Chisel meet the lyrical potency of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, resulting in a folk-rock sound that’s both intensely nostalgic and recognisably contemporary.
Dolce Blue: Alt-pop/ indie-rock band Dolce Blue (pronounced Dolchay Blue) is a Boorloo/Perth-based group led by singer-songwriter/ guitarist Veronica. With songs that have featured in RTRFM’s most played and been nominated in Happy Mag’s ‘Needle in The Hay’ and at WAM (West Australian Music) ‘Song of The Year’ awards, Veronica has captivated listeners around the nation with Dolce Blue solo shows across Perth, regional WA (including support slots for Sly Withers and Didirri), Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, east side FM praising “Veronica allowed everyone into her own mind, the ambience of the Martini Bar at Lazybones was exceptional at transporting us into the incredibly talented artist’s creative space. It was as if we were all sitting in her room whilst she came up with each song.”
