Meet Jacqueline de Severac (Katie E WIlliams) from our current production of Murder on the Nile.
‘I think it’s safe to say that Jackie has been one of, if not the, most complex and challenging roles i’ve ever been cast in. There are so many layers to her and to the journey she takes in the play that it took me a number of weeks to really begin to understand her,’ Katie says.
‘When we first meet Jackie she’s in complete emotional turmoil, she’s stalking her ex-best friend, Kay, and ex-fiancee, Simon, across Egypt while they are on their honeymoon and she’s determined to drive them mad and spoil their trip, even to her own detriment.’
‘I had to do a lot of work to understand a lot of her motivation.’
We think it’s safe to say the audience will feel the same way.
Thanks to Katie E Williams for arranging this character study. Watch the full clip here. And don’t forget, Murder on the Nile must close this weekend!
Now that you’ve watched this, why not check out the character study of Jacqueline’s former best friend, heiress Kay Ridgeway-Mostyn.
